MEDITATION ON OBSERVABLE MOMENTS

Meaning is not always found in the moments we try to hold onto, but in the ones that quietly hold us. It is the way the light falls on a flower, an object left in place, the doorway in and out of our life that carry traces of time, of presence, of absence, of the experiences all humans face.

I paint the details that form the backdrop of a life. The moments often overlooked while we are living it, yet charged with significance when we return to them in memory.

My work focuses on time and transition, using ordinary elements as the threshold to memories. They offer a way of returning, not to what was exactly, but to what is still felt. The viewer is invited to find a connection to their own experiences through the beauty of the ordinary.

Little Birder:A Field Guide to Birds of the Alphabet

This bird alphabet book is more than a way to learn the alphabet. It invites little birders to enter the world of observing nature though birds, art, and easy to digest facts.

Little Birder introduces twenty-six birds, one for each of letter of the alphabet, with bold illustrations and playful descriptions that together capture the essence of each bird. Layered in the pages are various levels of opportunity to observe, learn, and question that make this a nature book with a shelf-life that is as long as a child’s early years.

Are you ready to encourage the young naturalist and emerging artist that is already in your child, waiting to be discovered?
